Business Transactions

Every contract, every nondisclosure agreement, every lease, trademark application, LLC operating agreement, or software licensing deal has its own, unique terms. There are common elements between them, but I always try to remember that any particular document is for a specific business, with specific people who work in that business, and they’re trying to accomplish a specific goal. Keeping that in mind keeps me planted squarely in the collaborative process, so that each agreement I draft is tailored to the people and business it is meant to serve.

Commercial Litigation

The world of business is simple and fast-paced; the world of litigation is the exact opposite. When these two worlds collide, it can be frustrating for business owners. My goal in any litigation is to get my client from point A to point B as efficiently as possible. There are rare instances where taking things all the way to trial and even beyond that, to the appeals process, is necessary; but that is the exception to the rule. Most often, there is a solution to be found, and it can be found sooner rather than later if both sides come to the table and open up the dialogue. To me, setting the stage for that open dialogue right out of the gates most often means a quicker and more efficient result for my client.
